$50 Pitching Evaluations - Now through December 2024
Coach Jill is really big on building a strong foundation in a pitcher first, before anything else. Basic fundamentals and mechanics in pitching is the key. Once a pitcher has mastered ball control, we will move on to ball placement, and velocity. Focusing on ball control first, then velocity, followed by ball movement.
FOUNDATION FIRST – Learn, practice, and develop good pitching mechanics first...do NOT worry about throwing strikes when you are learning how to pitch. Learn how to do it right, make certain that everything is correct and smooth, then later you can start adding speed. Control (throwing strikes) should not be an issue in the beginning. First learn the correct way of doing the pitching motion and delivery. Then LATER you can work on being accurate and throwing strikes.
PITCHES - Are you ready to learn the Change up, Drop ball, Rise, Curve, & Screwball? After several months of hard work and practice on the fundamentals, correct foundation speed, and accuracy, then most pitchers are ready to proceed with learning one additional pitch.
WARM-UPS - Properly and completely…in practice or before games…is essential for good pitching performance. The better you stretch and warm-up the better you will pitch.
LEADERSHIP- BE THE LEADER OF YOUR TEAM! We will talk about how you as a pitcher will be responsible for taking charge. How to have a VOICE on the mound that is respected by your teammates. A pitchers body language and attitude on the mound is just as important, has her having a great fast ball.
SMART PITCHING - Know your BATTERS and where to throw your next pitch. We will go over different batter scenarios, and how/when to expand your zones.
